Harvest Potluck

Last night we went to a Harvest Potluck. Colin played with his friends and we enjoyed chili, hot dogs, and pumpkin pie. I love this time of year and the activities that come with it...but I wish it wasn't so hot!

Colin and Blake in the homemade corn crib.

It was a huge hit!
All the kids loved playing in this.

My little drummer boy.

I have a feeling we will be purchasing a drum kit in the (far) future.

Halloween Play Date

Monday was Colin's first Halloween Party! We had so much fun and the kids were so cute in their costumes. I emailed pictures to Andrew and he was confused b/c he said Colin looked normal. LOL Yeah, um, last year he was a monkey and he did ok in the morning...but when we put him in his costume that evening when Mady came over it was not going well. So to avoid a potential melt down we went simple. And if he would hold the darn Snoopy it would complete it. Our two little friends across the street are going to be Linus and Lucy! I am so excited to get a picture of them all together. "Lucy's" mom even has a can for her to hold that says "The Doctor is in."

Here are a few photos from out fun day yesterday. I wish I had a picture of the food setup that Susan did. She is so creative and she went above and beyond for this play date!

Little Earthquakes: A Novel

So I picked a new book last week and started reading it Friday...and I have about 1/4 of the book left. What is it?

Little Earthquakes: A Novel by Jennifer Weiner

It isn't a deep book. It is just entertaining. It is the story about four new mothers (all different) and their new friendships with one another and the ups and down of new motherhood. It is a perfect fit for me right now although I wish I had read it a year ago.

I am really enjoying it and thought I would put it out there in case you were looking for a new book.

Lucky Ladd's Farm

Saturday we met some of the members of our play group out at Lucky Ladd's Farm for some mid-morning play and pumpkin picking. Last year we visited Waldon Farms and although we enjoyed it (crappy weather and all) Lucky Ladd's blew it out of the water. There was so much to do: petting zoo, corn box, giant ball area (C's favorite I am sure!), carpet slide, hay ride, train ride, tractors to sit on, play grounds, sand boxes, food, and of course pumpkins! I took 110 pictures but I managed to only use 10 of them to do a few pages in his scrapbook. Click here to visit his scrapbook and either flip through until you get to the Lucky Ladd's page or just slide the scroll over to page 18 where those pictures begin.

We had so much fun that we might even go back out there one cooler day. We ended up having to put shorts on Colin while we where out there. Not the best weather for a fall themed field trip.

Half off Discovery Center

A friend sent me this link to Savvy Source. (It is like Groupon.) For a little more than 2 more days you can purchase a Family Membership to the Discovery Center for $37.50. It looks like you have 6 months to redeem it, so even if you are paid up until February, you could buy it half price now and redeem it then. You can't use other discounts (like the teacher's discount) so make sure you know which on is better before you buy it as it says it is non-transferable. So so get in on the deal click here or copy and past this address:

http://www.savvysource.com/?usercode=RCAH4U

Once you purchase it you can print off the paper that you need to take in with you right then or you can do it later by logging back into your account. So if you are not near a printer don't worry. You can print it out later.

Enjoy!

PS - If it doesn't take you straight to the Nashville page, just pick Nashville from the drop down menu that you will likely see somewhere on the page.

Book Suggetions?

I just finished The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud and loved it. I highly recommend it. I jumped online to pick a book off of Amazon to send to my Kindle but I really wanted to get some suggestions first. Please give me some good reads. See my "Books" tab to see what I have read this year and to get an idea of what I enjoy. I have some maybes in the back of my mind, but more suggestions never hurt. Thanks!

Where is your...

Mouth?
Hair?

(and my favorite) Foot?

He is getting good an identifying body parts (thanks to Mamaw working with him on this during the day!).

He also is starting to cheese it up when he sees a camera come out.

And one more picture just because I think he is one handsome little guy.
