Bike Trailer

Do you have one of these?

Could we borrow it? =)

We are trying to think of more things to do outside in this nice weather and we don't want to go out and buy one of these and Colin end up hating it. So if you have one that you wouldn't mind showing me how to hook up to a bike and borrow a couple of times to see if it is something we would use often I would really appreciate it.

Email or text me if you do!

Happy Easter

Colin had a great first Easter! The Easter Bunny left him a basket with a fridge farms, and book about Easter, and Finding Nemo!
We had family over for brunch after church and spent most of the afternoon outside. It was a beautiful Easter Sunday!

And I finally got a picture of some teeth! And number 6 is on its way!

Make sure you check out my Weekly Recipe this week as it uses left overs from last weeks recipe. I always end up with so much left over and this recipe makes a whole new meal!

9 Months On

9 months off. It must be true. As you can see (at the bottom of my page) I joined Curves back in December. I was doing good. I work out consistently and I could tell I was building muscle. I wasn't losing the weight fast enough for my liking but I knew my eating habits needed to change just a little bit.

You all know I love my Weight Watchers. I did it for years before I was pregnant and used it primarily to maintain my weight and was successful at that. In the middle of February I decided to go back to it. It is easy to follow and I really get to eat the foods I want. No limiting bread, sweets, or other favorites. It teaches you to spend those points on more filling foods (not bread) so you get the most out of them. You end up eating better b/c want to use those points the best way possible.

When I weighed in at Curves in March I didn't notice much a difference yet. After all, it had only been about 2 weeks. But I went in for a weigh and measure today. Changing my eating habits really helped.

I lost 10.5 inches in the past month! And my body fat percentage went from 25% to 22.4% (I love how it tells me this lose equates to 5.46 Body Fat Pounds).

This is why I was able to start wearing my favorite pre-pregnancy jeans earlier in the month. I am so happy with my results so far. I have a little more weight to lose but not much. Honestly, the fact that I can wear my old clothes makes me happy enough. Losing the last bit of weight would just be icing on the (moderately portion piece) of cake. =)

Also, my baby is 9 months old today! He has his check-up next Wednesday and I am excited to see how much he has grown!

Yesterday was a fail

At least in the decorating department. When I get bored, I rearrange. Because totally redecorating is too expensive and I am just not that good at it.

So I rearranged Colin's room. I finally ordered his name to go above his crib and a cute little giraffe to go with it. It took two weeks to come in. It is one of those vinyl things from Uppercase Living.

I get really excited and read all the instructions after it comes in yesterday. I set it up on the wall perfectly and get to work (all while Colin is being amazingly well behaved and playing with toys in his crib). The darn thing won't come off and attach to my walls.
It took me a 1/2 hour to get that "C" to finally come off, and now I have the "N" but the other letter refuse to come off the backing paper and stick to my wall! I have tried all the tips and tricks and nothing. Cassie mentioned that I might have gotten a bad one and my dad thinks so too. So now I just wait for someone to contact me...b/c there is no stinking number to call for help. (And would you look at the paper...I really think it is time to give up. It is wrinkled and sticking to itself and not cooperating.)
It is just hanging half way on the wall above his crib still. I haven't even tried to apply the cute giraffe. He is going up at the end of his name. Anyone else with tips or tricks??
Oh, and this morning I finally got the "L" off the backing and it doesn't stick to the wall. It falls right off. =(

Now I am almost over it and just want to spend that time trying to find some nice plants or trees for the backyard.

A boy and his push toy

Oh, how Colin does enjoy his push toy. If he sees it out he climbs right up to it and off he goes. He is even starting to get it to turn a little so he doesn't run into the wall and couch every time.

He gets so excited and has a huge grin on his face when he is behind this toy.

It is starting to give him quite a bit of confidence. He is cruising around the furniture so much more and going from one object to the next. His balance is getting so much better also. He will grab and object off of the shelf or my hands and as long as he is holding something (like his cell phone toy or plastic ring) he can stand for a bit on his own.

Combine the increase balance with the confidence and you have what I started to notice this weekend: him letting go of one thing to try and make it to another hands free. He tried to go from my leg to the jumperoo yesterday. He actually did a little shuffle with both feet before falling.

I don't think will be walking next week...or even next month. But boy am I nervous. He is hard enough to keep up with when he is crawling. I am thinking of getting one of those baby gates that makes an entire circle. Kind of like a cage. He doesn't sit still. He doesn't know how. And all I want to do is unload the dishwasher! =)
