Craigslist

So, I had my first Craigslist experience today. I decided to post that Twin Mattress for free, and within 15 minutes of posting it, I had three people e-mail about wanting it. Who knew people were so eager to take other people's junk! (OK, it isn't junk. It is just in my way and I am willing to give things away to get them out of my sight. )

I even set someone up as backup if they first person falls through. I feel so in control...

Cassie, Darin would be scolding me for not trying to sell it first...this is what I thought when I typed FREE in the info box on my listing. I guess I definitely do not take after my Grandma Snyder.

Something funny for your day

I don't really care much for stand up comedians, because I find then crud and vulgar. However, I love Jim Gaffigan. Here is a clip from the new special that was on Sunday night.

Anyone need/want a mattress?

So, we are still getting the future nursery cleaned out, and that includes getting rid of our mattress. It is a twin sized mattress purchased back in January 2008 and only slept on a few times. It isn't worth out time or effort to store it in a storage place or make room for it in our garage, so we are giving it away.

If you know anyone that wants or needs a FREE twin mattress, box springs, and bed rails, let me know and it is theirs. Thanks!

Don't they realize?

Boobs grow too?? That is what I am wondering about the designers of maternity swimwear.

At my most recent appointment, I mentioned to my Nurse Practitioner that I have been kind of uncomfortable after exercise, even something as simple as going for a walk. So she suggested swimming. I was all for it! I was on the swim team in high school and I always felt good after my workouts. Of course, those were two hours a day, five days a week and I won't be aiming anywhere near that...although I would feel bad ass if I could still do it.

So then begins my search for a swimsuit. I wasn't too worried about it at first. I actually found a really cute tankini and was so excited to get some real exercise in.

Five days later, my new swimsuit arrives. And it fits perfectly...except for the chest. The girls were center of attention. It is common knowledge that your boobs grow when you are pregnant, right? Evidently not.

I went to the maternity store at the Avenue (which I hate but gave it a try) and looked for swimwear there. Number one - nothing cute. Number two - where is the support? I may as well wear a tee shirt with no bra!

Discouraged, I go home and ask Andrew "Would it be totally inappropriate to show up at the Sports*Com in my two piece because it is the only thing that supports 'the girls'?" Lucky for me, my husband is very honest and says, "I would be offended seeing someone's big belly hang out of a two piece. Don't do it."

And so my search continues. If I knew how, I would totally design and sew my own custom maternity swimsuit.

Stuffed Shells

I tried a new recipe that will become a usual in our house now. Just thought I would share:

Stuffed Shells

Only things I changed: I left out the chopped red pepper and used some crushed red pepper flakes and I used ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese (because I don't eat cheese that is both chunky and liquid at the same time).

Also, two weeks ago I planted a few strawberry plants. So far they are growing strong! No fruit yet (of course) but I am hoping I can keep the plants alive and healthy so see and taste some this summer.

A busy day means being exhausted the next

Yesterday was a pretty busy day for me! I had my 24 week appointment first thing in the morning and got to drink the flat orange soda for my glucose test (which I passed with "flying colors" so said the nurse.) After suggesting to the lab tech that they provide straws, b/c it would make it easier to drink and less likely that I would wind up with orange stains on the corners of my mouth, I got weighed, measured, and made an appointment for an ultrasound that afternoon. On my way out, I got my blood drawn and I know have a black/purple/blue elbow pit to show for my efforts. Must have been an off day, b/c this guy usually does really well on me. I haven't lost my faith in him for future draws though.

I put in four hours at the office (yeah, rough day) and then left to get my ultrasound!

I got really lucky and had the nice girl do my scan (a couple of you may know who I am talking about)! After getting the measurement she needed, she let me watch what the baby was up to. He (I felt like it was a boy yesterday) was trying to hard to get his little hand in his mouth the whole time, and finally achieved it right at the end! He was also opening and closing his mouth a lot and even stuck his tongue out at us. She printed out some good pictures of him trying to get his hand up to his mouth, and even a really good picture of the front of his face where you can see his mouth open and up his nose. I thought it was so cool to actually see his little nose holes. I think they look like mine. I have a couple that look like he is smiling too.

Baby Coleman has a current estimated weight of 1 lb 10 oz and is looking good! We get to peek in again in four weeks and I am hoping to get the same ultrasound tech, as she was so nice and enjoyed watching the baby as much as I did!

Lastly, we finally moved out the entertainment center from our bedroom and rearranged a little. We purchased a new TV for the bedroom and a Roku box so we could stream NetFlix to the back. Andrew spent time setting this up while I moved my scrap booking desk in there. I think tonight I will break the new TV in by finishing organizing my desk and watching Grey's.

24 Weeks!

Today marks 24 weeks, and I finally have a real bump!Molly felt left out, and decided to join in for the monthly belly photo.

One of the hardest things about pregnancy for me so far is accepting that this is a time you are supposed to get big. It is such a foreign thought for me, that regardless of what I eat, fried or fresh, my body is going to expand. And not just the belly. I swear my face and arms are getting rounder also. And that surprisingly bothers me more than my boobs getting bigger. (If you know me, at all, you know two thing I would change about me cosmetically are my boobs and my teeth.)
I would like to learn how to run after baby Coleman is born. I know it sounds stupid, but I don't know how to. I have always done the elliptical, but if I could learn how to run outside, I might invest in a jogging stroller one day. I will google "learn how to run."

I am also noticing I need a list to accomplish common, everyday tasks. For instance, this morning I forgot to bring a leash for Molly when I brought her to Pet Safari, and I forgot to take my medications and vitamins. Two things that I do everyday, and yet, they slip my mind so easily.
I've been working hard on the nursery. The crib and changing table/dresser are all put together and I have put some hanging organizers in the closet to have more shelve like storage. I hope warm weather is here to stay, because I want to paint my chair rail outdoors before we install it. I also ordered my chair for the nursery, and will share a picture when it comes in and it is set up. I have to give credit to Cassie for finding it, because I didn't even notice in the store until she pointed it out, and then I fell in love with it. I am so excited to get it!!
Other than getting bigger, I have just been trying some new recipes from kraftfoods.com and figuring out how to clean my washer and dryer. Tide makes a powder solution you use once a month on an empty cycle and it smells so good. It is on my list of favorite smells now, including my perfume, my Tide laundry detergent, and Febreeze. Cleaning the dryer didn't really have a pleasant or bad odor. It was just a pain the butt, but desperately needed it.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Don't worry, I don't pinch those not wearing green. It's cruel. But I am wearing green in case I run into some meanies today.

Have it your way...

...or maybe not.

Wow, 911, really?

Maybe later I will post the video that makes me afraid of gnomes.

People Magazine doesn't lie

Melissa in fact was on DWTS! I told Andrew that I bet Jason is at home with Molly, and he is sneaking around to watch Melissa dance, because he is fickle and can't make up his mind. I bet he does that same and watches Jillian when her season starts.

DWTS

Has anyone else read this?

My DVR is set to see if it is true.

A question of those who have been pregnant

This is concerning shoes. As you know, warm weather is around the corner, and I am looking forward to some sandals and open toed shoes. I always have my trusty Old Navy flip flops, but I want a pair of pretty sandals. First, is it unwise to get a pair like this:

I'll add, that I seem to trip more in my tennis shoes than I do my heels. Not really sure why, but I kind of think that it is the material on the sole. Or I just walk too fast around the office.

Second, did your feet swell and did you have to buy shoes in a bigger size? If yes, how many weeks were you?

And last, after you delivered, were you able to wear your old shoe size again? Or did you have to continue to wear the new size. This is a big deal. If your feel go back to normal, then no sense in spending too much money, right?

Thanks!

The end of another season of The Bachelor

I will be the first to admit that I loved Jason in the beginning. He was my favorite bachelor. And then, he became a giant douche. He is also the biggest cry baby of a man that I have ever seen.

I realize that most of the relationships don't work out, but he must have a pretty big set in order to go on national television and break a poor girl's heart. Don't air your dirty laundry on TV. He should have taken care of this BEFORE blindsiding Melissa.

I felt so bad for Melissa when she told him that he stole something important from her. She said that getting engaged was a one time thing, and he stole that from her and that he should have just let her go and never proposed. After the way DeAnna let him get down on one knee and propose and then break his heart, you think he would have a little more tact in this kind of situation.

I did love Molly's reaction when she realized he wanted a second chane with her. I hope he answers all her questions and that it ends up well for her. But for the record, I think they both can do better than him.

I am only watching the 2nd part of the "After the Final Rose" because previous rumors were true, so I am assuming the one about Jillian being the next Bachelorette is also! Rumors say they will announce it tonight!

Happy Snow Day!

Hope you had fun playing in the snow!
